Upcher Community Partnership serves the population of a beautiful coastal area of North Norfolk, England, that encompasses Sheringham and the villages of Gresham, East and West Beckham, Beeston Regis, Upper Sheringham, Weybourne, Kelling and Salthouse.
This is a popular tourism destination but the gloss of tourism can disguise other needs within communities. One purpose of Upcher Community Partnership is to encourage local partnership working to develop projects that benefit our local communities. Another purpose is to support local organisations and groups who meet the objectives of Upcher Community Partnership Ltd.
2009 projects include
- working with lead partners to enhance Pretty Corner Woods
- tourism promotion
- Information, advice and guidance hub
- Setting up a local credit union
- Supporting local events development, such as an arts and literature festival and a Christmas lights switch on.
- Community chest - small local grants
