Art & Literary Festival 2011

'COAST' Art & Literary Festival'

The Art Festival got off to a roaring start with a launch at the Rocket House in Cromer on the Saturday 22nd October which started the 77 events. Upcher were involved in the Open Door Community Art Group workshops which provided halloween activities and a Mod Rock workshop where all the chlidren loved getting stuck in and covered in dust. The Youth exhibition also took place in Oddfellows Hall in Sheringham and exhibited work from the primary and high schools in Sheringham and students form the University of Art in Norwich. A full programme was available including a range of concerts to art and textile exhibitions and outside activities on the beach.

The organisers were thrilled to receive the Action for Market Towns East of England award at St Ives in Cambridgeshire for collaborative and partnership working, the festival then went on to be awarded the overall winner.

This is an excellent result for all the hard work over the last 18 months, this was eclipsed by the festival also being awarded the most transferable award at the Action for Market Towns anuual Convention in Ludlow ,where Tim, Janet and Catt were on hand to receive the award.
