Upper Sheringham

upper sher village sign

Upper Sheringham is 1 mile from the sea and Sheringham Town. The picturesque village follows the B1157 road and the wonderful stone cottages hug the roadside. The 15th Century Church, All Saints, is one of only a few remaing examples in the country of  a 15th Century RoodLoft, and several carved bench ends including a Mermaid dipicting local legend. Sheringham Park owned by the National Trust lies to the western side, and this was the family estate home of the Upcher rhods bestfamily. The park is now a country known tourist attraction and is regularily used by locals for the wonderful open spaces and views from the viewing towers of the coast and Rodedendrons in full bloom during late May early June. To the eastern side there are Sheringham Woods which offer miles of gentle walks.
