Upcher continues to strive towards the aims and objectives of the 2009/2010 business plan with additions specified below. The last 6 months have proved somewhat difficult to focus with the uncertainty of the Partnerships, however, Upcher staff, Board and Members have remained positive and future plans have already been brought forward.

Partnership Description:-
Coastal villages benefit from a regular coastline Bus service and Sheringham is linked to Cromer, North Walsham, the Broads and Norwich by train, the community bus service provided by North Walsham Area Community Transport Association, runs a service through the villages to access the larger towns, this is supported by Upcher. March 2010 saw the first large steam train cross Station Road, from Norwich into North Norfolk Railway Station. The link rejoined for the first time since the 1960's this attracted 1,000's of visitors into the town and surrounding area, and a programme of large steam locomotives is expected to visit throughout the year.
The 'Mo' Museum opened in April 2010 and recounts the history of the fishing village, the local family stories and the lifeboat legacies which still remain in Sheringham today, up to August 2010 the museum had welcomed in excess of 7,000 visitors.
Sheringham High School acts as the main education hub and has recently developed a sixth form. Sheringham also boasts Woodfields Special School which offers education from the ages of 5 to 10 with specialist needs. This is a well known school with an excellent reputation. Leisure and tourism, retail and services provide the main employment opportunities, with a relatively high proportion of self-employed people. Traditional occupations such as fishing and farming are vital to the local economy. The Sheringham Schoal Offshore Windfarm will become a feature of the coastline and provide pockets of employment, the first wind turbine boke groud in June 2010.
Once any decision has been received regarding the new structure of the LAP's Upcher will once again updat the new business plan for 2011/12 with the new planned projects.
